Police Blotter: Angry Customer Throws Food Back at Restaurant

ALCOHOL 

Marvin D. Potter, 35, of the 600 block of Cobblestone, Buffalo Grove, was charged with driving under the influence and a traffic control violation at 10:17 p.m. May 1 on Lake-Cook Road at McHenry Road.

COMPLAINT

A resident of the 700 block of Weidner Road reported noise coming from her neighbor’s unit at 4 a.m. May 11. Officers contacted the neighbor and explained the report. The neighbor stated they would keep the noise down. 

DISPUTE

A Wendy’s employee reported a customer became irate and threw his bag of food at the drive-thru window at 4:05 p.m. May 11. The customer left prior to the officers’ arrival. 

DISTURBANCE

Officers responded to a report of several people fighting at 2:20 a.m. May 11 in a parking lot on the 300 block of North McHenry Road. When the police arrived, everyone was calm and the police were not needed. 

IDENTITY THEFT

A complainant went to the Buffalo Grove police station May 11 to report unauthorized charges were made on his credit cards. Officers provided a report for the complainant’s bank.  

PROPERTY DAMAGE

A complainant on the 600 block of Bourdeaux reported a small amount of spray paint damage was done to their vehicle between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. May 12. It was unknown how the damage was done or who did it.

SUSPICIOUS NOISE

A resident of the 600 block of Raintree reported hearing a loud banging noise coming from outside their home at 12:54 a.m. May 11. Officers checked the area and found nothing unusual. 

THEFT

Someone stole gasoline at 7:53 a.m. May 10 from the Shell station. Officers will contact the driver. 

A Shell gas station employee reported the theft of gasoline at 11:22 a.m. May 12. Officers contacted the person who didn’t pay and determined there was an error. The customer then returned and paid for the gas. 

A resident of the 600 block of Hapsfield reported several new flower pots were stolen between 12:15 and 5:45 p.m. May 11.
