Stormy weather has delayed the start of Long Grove’s three-day Strawberry Festival, which was scheduled to open Friday morning.
A Long Grove Visitors Center representative told Patch that officials are waiting for the storm to pass before opening for the weekend. The festival includes a lineup up musical entertainment, and the bands cannot play outdoors if there’s lightning, she said.
The festival will open after the storm passes. It’s scheduled to run until 6 p.m. today, June 21; from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. June 22; and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 23.
