Man also faces weapon charges in addition to drug possession charges.

URBANA, IL β Two people were arrested at a Champaign home Thursday where police found several pounds of cannabis and nearly $40,000 cash as the result of a months-long police investigation into allegations of suspected drug dealing from the home, The News-Gazette reported. According to the news report, officials said Steven P. Williams, 24, of Danville, and Arionna Smith, 23, of the 1800 block of Parkdale Drive, are expected to be charged Friday when the state's attorney's office files class X felony charges of possession with intent to deliver cannabis against both due to the more than 16 pounds of cannabis involved.
Champaign County Street Crimes Task Force Sergeant Dave Griffet, Williams and Smith were arrested Thursday following a search of the Parkdale Drive address, which was conducted thanks to a search warrant. The News-Gazzete reported the search began at 6 a.m. with the help of the Champaign Police Department SWAT Team, during which officers found vacuum-sealed bags containing a street value of around $55,000 worth of cannabis in the living room and bedroom, in addition to just less than $40,000 cash, according to Griffet.

Police also found two pistols and two rifles in the home, The News-Gazette said. While Griffet said Smith has a valid firearm owner's ID, Williams is not allowed to possess weapons because of a prior conviction out of Vermilion County, and is therefore also expected to be charged with unlawful possession of weapon by a felon, according to the news report.
