City Of Champaign: Community Coalition Returns To In-Person Meetings

On March 9, 2022, the Champaign County Community Coalition hosted its monthly meeting in person at the Champaign Holiday Inn. Law enforcement leadership from Champaign, Urbana, Champaign County Sheriff’s Office, University of Illinois, and Parkland Police Departments shared updates and events, including Coffee with a Cop. Retiring Urbana Police Chief Bryant Seraphin participated in a one-on-one conversation with Coalition Facilitator Tracy Parsons about his career and police-community relations. Presenters from Stephens Family YMCA shared information about the Y on the Fly program and the Champaign County Regional Planning Commission shared information about their Workforce Development programming. The Coalition Race Relations Committee also shared about upcoming community engagement activities.
