City Firefighter Recruitment Continues

The firefighter recruitment process is continuing on schedule. 203 applications were submitted by the application deadline of October 2nd. This is consistent with the number of applications submitted during previous recruitments and a very positive result given the uncertainty of conducting this recruitment during the pandemic. Fortunately, the testing vendor, National Testing Network, responded quickly to the unexpected closure of most testing facilities earlier in the year and launched a virtual proctoring testing option that allows candidates to complete the written examination remotely, if needed. Applicants have until October 30th to take the written examination.

Applications are currently being screened and the applicants that meet the minimum requirements including submission of all required documents and pass the written examination will be invited to the next step of the application process, oral interviews. Oral interviews will take place in a modified format to comply with social distancing and other health and safety guidelines in early November.
