No Shooter, But School Canceled After Threat At Illinois High School
"This is not a DRILL," the superintendent wrote in a message to parents after Urbana High School received a threat.
URBANA, IL — There was no active shooter, but school was canceled in Urbana after a threat was made to the local high school, WICS reported Monday morning.
Urbana police told the outlet there was no active shooter, but Urbana High School and middle school were both closed for the day after a threat was received.
Earlier, the News-Gazette reported Urbana High School was under lockdown after the school superintendent notified families of a "possible shooting" at the campus.

"This is not a DRILL," Superintendent Jennifer Ivory-Tatum wrote in an alert sent to parents on Monday. "We have received a message regarding a possible shooting at UHS."
Buses were rerouted and Ivory-Tatum said those in cars and those walking to school should not come to the campus unless an all-clear is given, the News-Gazette reported.

WCIA reported it had received multiple reports from parents that students arriving at the high school were sent home.
Another alert sent to Urbana Middle School families notified parents that school was canceled after the high school received threats about a "potential active shooter," the News-Gazette reported.
