Many Channahon, Minooka Homeowners are Mortgage-Free: Report

Communities with a large segment of senior citizens or high median incomes tend to have the highest percentage mortgage-free homes, according to Crain’s Chicago Business. 

According to the Crain's analysis, of Channahon's 3,555 owner-occupied units 16.5 percent are mortgage-free. In Minooka 14.1 percent of the 2,847 units are without a mortgage. These numbers are lower than the Chicagoland average of 26 percent of homeowners being mortgage-free.
