Chad Michael Joseph Layfield

Chad Michael Joseph Layfield, passed away too soon at the age of 30, on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at St. Joseph Medical Center, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born in Joliet, IL, on April 7, 1992, the son of Charles “Chip” and Lisa Tyann (nee Jimenez) Layfield. Chad was a graduate of Joliet Township High School with the Class of 2010.

Chad was passionate about cars and with his natural charisma and charm, he followed in his father's footsteps and loved being a salesman.

Chad's contagious laugh was always at the forefront during the things that brought him the most joy. He loved playing poker with his friends and family, always walking away the winner. A perfect summer day for Chad was floating down the river and bridge jumping with his brother and friends.Chad enjoyed football and loved spending time on the golf course with his father and best friend, whom he has now been reunited with. He will be dearly missed by all.

Chad is survived by his mother, Lisa Tyann Layfield; his sister, Tayler Layfield; brother, Matthew Layfield; and his maternal grandfather, Joseph Jimenez. Numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.

He is preceded by his father, Charles H. Layfield, Jr. (2022); paternal grandparents, Charles H. Sr. and Ardis Layfield; and his maternal grandmother, Sharon Jimenez.

Visitation for Chad Michael Joseph Layfield will be held on Monday, February 6, 2023, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, IL, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 12:30 p.m. Interment will be held privately by the family at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville.
