Robbery At Love's Solved As Channahon Police Make Arrest

A 42-year-old Chicago man is charged with the robbery, in which a man in a ski mask robbed the store clerk.

CHANNAHON, IL — Channahon police have made an arrest nearly two months after a man in a ski mask burst into the Love's Travel Stop and robbed the clerk, implying that he had a gun. Police say the 42-year-old Chicago man was involved in two other armed robberies — one in Lake County, Illinois, and one in Jasper County, Indiana.

On Wednesday, police announced the arrest of Christopher Cannon on charges of aggravated robbery and attempted aggravated robbery.

Just after 2:30 a.m. on Oct. 30, police said a man — now identified as Cannon — entered the Love's Travel Stop at 23801 W. Bluff Road wearing a black ski mask, gloves and camouflage clothing and demanded money. "A weapon was implied, but not displayed," police said.

Police said the Love's clerk complied, giving the man money from the store register before the robber fled in a dark-colored SUV.

No one was hurt in the robbery.

In a news release, Channahon police said its detectives worked closely with police in Lake County and Indiana to identify Cannon.
