Teens Beaten and Robbed of Air Jordans by Crooks Who Threw Stolen Sneakers in Creek: Cops

One of the beaten teens was already on crutches and had his arm in a sling, police said.

Two teens were beaten and robbed of Air Jordans, a pair of which the crooks tossed in a creek when the cops were coming after them, police said.

The felonious youths — a pair of 16-year-olds — and their victims, a 14-year-old and a 17-year-old, met Saturday afternoon to consummate a deal for some Air Jordans, police said.

But instead of buying the sneakers, the 16-year-olds stole them, police said, and also attacked the sellers. The 17-year-old — who was on crutches and had his arm in a sling — reportedly took a punch to his face.

Officers tracked down the thieving teens, police said, but before the dragnet completely closed on them they tossed a pair of Jordans into Hickory Creek. The cops were reportedly able to fish the shoes out of the water.
