Homeowners Return To House Covered In Bullet Holes: Steger Police

According to police, the Florence Avenue home was found with what appeared to be multiple bullet holes in it early Tuesday morning.

STEGER, IL β€” A house on the 3300 block of Florence Avenue was riddled with bullet holes early Tuesday morning, according to Steger police.

Police responded to the home at around 2:40 a.m. Tuesday and found "numerous holes" in the side of the home, which officers told Patch appeared to be bullet holes.

Officials said the actual shooting likely occurred several hours earlier but was not reported until the residents returned home and found the damage. No injuries were reported.

Police said they have recovered evidence and do not believe there is a threat to the community as the incident appeared to be "not a random act." Neighbors were encouraged to call police if they hear or see anything suspicious, as an earlier call could have led to catching the accused perpetrator(s), officers said.
