The Humane Society is looking for help with 9 sick dogs from Harvey who were neglected after their owner entered hospice care.

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL — The South Suburban Human Society is looking for volunteers to foster or hospice nine dogs who were rescued from an elderly owner who could no longer care for them after the owner was hospitalized.

Cook County officials dropped the dogs off Thursday morning. According to the Humane Society, they had been living in a Harvey backyard for weeks after their owner entered hospice care. The dogs are suffering from mammary tumors, entropic eyes, mange, and fleas, officials said, although their conditions are still being evaluated. The dogs, they added need a little TLC.
