Man Wanted After Birthday Party Shooting In Sauk Village: FBI

A man died after he was shot in the chest at his birthday party in July. Authorities are trying to locate the man who shot him.

SAUK VILLAGE, IL — The FBI's Chicago Field Office is working with Sauk Village Police to locate a man wanted in connection with the shooting death of another man at his birthday party over the summer, according to a news release from the Chicago FBI.

On July 17, the release states that Sauk Village police responded to a home after receiving reports of shots fired. One man had been shot in the chest and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, but he died from his wounds.

According to the FBI, police identified the shooter as Jarvis Wright, who has ties to Wisconsin, Indiana and Chicago. On Aug. 13, a state arrest warrant was issued by the Circuit Court of Cook County, charging Wright with first degree murder, the release states.

On Sept. 8, a federal arrest warrant charging Wright with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution and custody was issued by the Northern District of Illinois, Eastern Division Court, the release states.

The FBI said Wright is to be considered armed and dangerous.

Wright is described as a black man, around 5 feet 10 inches tall, and weighing approximately 175 to 180 pounds. He has black hair and is 27-years-old.

If anyone has any information, they are asked to contact their local FBI office. The FBI is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to Wright's arrest and conviction.
