Rep. Robin Kelly Sponsors Black Women, Girls Symposium Thursday
Congresswoman Robin Kelly is hosting a free symposium to teach you how to get a raise and brand your talent.
CHICAGO HEIGHTS IL β Congresswoman Robin Kelly is hosting a free symposium featuring some of Chicagoβs dynamic woman professionals in finance, labor, marketing and human resources offering guidance on negotiating pay raises and advancement, and successfully branding your talent and your business.
The symposium, βPower Moves: Strategies for Success,β takes place from 8 a.m. to noon, Thurs., Aug. 22, at Chicago State University, in the Breakey Theater in Douglas Hall, 9501 S. King Drive, Chicago.
Dorri McWhorter, CEO of the YWCA of Metropolitan Chicago, will serve as keynote speaker and moderator. Through panels and interactive sessions, the symposium will also address small business development, dressing for success, and the gender-based wage gap that has placed Black women at a severe economic disadvantage regardless of their level of education or professional attainment.
