Three Firefighters Hurt At Chicago Heights Glass Factory Fire
Two firefighters were treated and released. A third was kept for observation after they battled a fire Tuesday at a Heights glass factory.
CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL — Three firefighters were hurt battling a fire at Gerresheimer Glass factory Tuesday morning.
When they arrived at the glass factory, located at 111 Arnold St. in Chicago Heights, about 11:30 a.m., they saw smoke coming from doors and windows, said Chicago Heights Fire Dept. Chief Jeffrey Springer.
Officials said the fire was caused by a furnace leak.

Two firefighters were treated and released from a nearby hospital, the Chicago Tribune reported. The third was kept overnight for observation.
Gerresheimer Glass manufactures pharmaceutical packaging and products, including glass bottles for medicines.
