Torrence Avenue Construction Begins April 29

Torrence Avenue will be patched and resurfaced, and pedestrian crossings will be installed. Closures are expected from April to November.

LANSING, IL — Daily lane closures on Torrence Avenue from south of Interstate 80 in Lansing to Glenwood Dyer Road in Lynwood will begin April 29, the Illinois Department of Transportation announced.

The street will be patched and resurfaced, and new pedestrian crossings will be installed.

The work is expected to be complete by the end of November.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
