1 Killed In I-90 Collision Near Elgin

ELGIN, IL — One person was killed in a crash on Interstate 90 near Elgin, police said.

Authorities say the collision happened in the eastbound lanes of I-90 near the Elgin toll plaza at about 3:20 p.m. Saturday when a sports utility vehicle veered onto the right shoulder and hit a truck, according to the Daily Herald. The SUV driver was taken to the hospital and later died and the truck driver sustained injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
