1 Seriously Injured In Route 14 Rollover Collision

The crash closed down Route 14 near Woodstock for more than three hours.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — One person was seriously injured in a two-vehicle collision near Woodstock Monday morning, authorities said.

The collision happened near Route 14 and Bunker Hill Road in unincorporated Woodstock at about 10 a.m. when a semi collided with a car, which rolled over, according to a news release from the Harvard Fire Protection District.

Man inside the car became trapped inside, and firefighters worked to extricate the man. He was taken by helicopter to Javon Bea Hospital - Riverside in Rockford for further treatment.

The drive of the semi, a man, was evaluated at the scene and then taken by ambulance to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Route 14 was closed for more than three hours while emergency crews worked at the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the McHenry County Sheriff's Office.
