16-Year-Old Who Was Missing From Cary For Two Weeks Found Safe

The Cary Police Department said the missing juvenile was 16-year-old Alexia Peters.

A 16-year-old girl who went missing from Cary for two weeks has been located safe, the police department announced Tuesday.

Peters was last seen voluntarily leaving her home in Cary around 12:45 p.m. on July 27, according to Cary Deputy Police Chief Scott Naydenoff.

Peters last had telephone contact with someone at approximately 9:45 p.m. that same day, Naydenoff said.

She was seen wearing black leggings, a white tank top, a gray North Face jacket, white Puma shoes and was carrying a teal backpack.

Peters is described as approximately 5-foot-4 and 115 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

The teen was possibly in the Cicero area, Naydenoff said, adding that information is not confirmed.

“At this time there is no reason to believe Alexia is in any danger other than the length of time from last contact,” Naydenoff said.

On Tuesday, Naydenoff said in an update the girl had been located safe. He did not say where she was located at.
