2 Injured in Monday Afternoon Crash in Palatine

Palatine Police could not get statements from drivers because they were rushed to the hospital.

Two people were injured Monday afternoon when a Turano bread truck and a car collided on Palatine Road at Northwest Highway.

The car was westbound on Palatine Road and the Turano bread truck was southbound on Northwest Highway. How the two collided is not yet known.

“The right of way was not determined because no statement was given by the drivers,” Palatine Police Commander Mike Seebacher said.

Both drivers were taken to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.

The crash shut down portions of Palatine Road and Northwest Highway for under and hour.

“The only reason there was some lane closures is because the (Turano bread) truck was blocking the roadway and we had to get a tow truck to get it out of the way,” Seebacher said.

The accident is under investigation.
