CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — The results are in from a recent speed enforcement campaign in Crystal Lake.

From July 8 through August 1, the Crystal Lake Police Department conducted the traffic safety campaign, which is meant to encourage "safer driving habits," according to a news release from the Crystal Lake Police Department.

Police in Crystal Lake issued 21 citations for speeding during the enforcement campaign.

The campaign is part of a statewide effort involving multiple law enforcement agencies, the Illinois Department of Transportation and the Illinois State Police and is meant to reduce highway fatalities and injuries associated with speeding.

The "Speeding Catches Up With You" campaign and is made possible by federal highway safety funds administered by IDOT.
