2nd Crystal Lake Dispensary Gets Special Use OK From Crystal Lake City Council

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — The Crystal Lake City Council has approved a special use permit to allow a new cannabis dispensary to open on Route 31 in Crystal Lake.

The dispensary is proposed to open the location of the now-shuttered Spark'd Dispensary at 330 N. Route 31. On Tuesday, the city council anonymously approved a special permit for the business.

Developer Omar Fakhouri spoke on behalf of the dispensary, which will be called Silver Jade, stating the business will be a positive addition to the community. Trustees thanked the developers for helping to fill the vacant space.

"We are definitely excited about opening a business here in Crystal Lake," Fakhouri said during Tuesday's city council meeting. "But ultimately, these are positive business to a community. They are wellness products and we are excited about the prospect and your consideration."

It's unclear when the news dispensary will open. Crystal Lake currently has one other marijuana dispensary in town, Ivy Hall Dispensary.
