America's Cardboard Cup Regatta is Saturday

The 29th Annual America Cardboard Cup Regatta is Saturday, June 22, at Main Beach, 300 Lake Shore Dr., in Crystal Lake. The Regatta is an annual event offering fun for the entire family- whether you attend as spectators or participants. Gates to the beach open at 9 a.m., and races start at noon. 

Proceeds from the event are given to local charities supporting a variety of causes and services.

Pre-constructed boats can be registered ahead of time or on race day. Registration and day-of-event boat inspection begin at 9 a.m. The Regatta has a variety of divisions based upon contestants' age and the method of propulsion. Trophies are awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners for each class and participation category.
