Apartments Uninhabitable Following Weekend Fire: Fire Officials
The blaze broke out in the attic of a two-story apartment complex at 1175 Central Park Drive.
CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — Two apartments have been deemed uninhabitable following a blaze Saturday night in Crystal Lake.
The fire broke out at about 7:30 p.m. at 1175 Central Park Drive. When fire crews arrived, they found the blaze in the attic of the two-story multi-family apartment complex.
One apartment in the complex sustained fire, heat, smoke and water damage and an adjacent unit sustained water damage, according to a news release from the Crystal Lake Fire Protection District.

Both apartments have been deemed uninhabitable. All residents living in the apartments were able to secure living arrangements while repairs are made, fire officials said.
The cost of the damages is estimated at $45,000, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
