Icy Roads Reported Friday In McHenry County

The McHenry County Sheriff's Office is urging drivers to use cautions due to the slippery roadways.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — The McHenry County Sheriff's Office is urging drivers to use caution while traveling this morning due to icy roads.

According to a Friday morning Facebook post, the sheriff's office said roadways across McHenry County are icy and dangerous.

"Please use caution when traveling this morning," sheriff's office officials said in the post.

A mix of patchy light snow, drizzle and freezing drizzle was in the forecast last night. The National Weather Service cautioned that the precipitation could lead to slick spots early Friday for parts of far Northeast Illinois, according to the National Weather Service.
