MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — Two of the people killed in a triple fatality near Woodstock on Sunday have still not bee identified.

Officials with the McHenry County Coroner's Office on Tuesday said they were still working to identify the two individuals who were found inside a 2021 Dodge Challenger Hellcat after it collided head on with a 2022 Volvo XC 90 at a hill crest and caught fire. Both were pronounced dead at the scene

The 47-year-old driver in the Volvo was also killed. She has been identified Amy Roeder of Woodstock, according to the coroner's office. Roeder's daughter, a 7th grader at a different school in the district, was seriously injured, ABC 7 Chicago News is reporting.

"She was a huge asset to the Westwood school community, and besides being an employee, she was a very involved parent," Kevin Lyons, spokesperson for School District 200, told ABC 7.

Meanwhile, the coroner's office is waiting on dental or DNA records to officially confirm the two others killed in the collision, Shaw Local News Network is reporting. One of the young men was described this past week as having a good heart and the other was a fan of the Milwaukee Bucks, according to the article. Juan Mercado told Shaw Local News Network he went to Harvard High School with one of the teens. Mercado said the teen inspired him to cut hair as well.

Authorities say speed and reckless driving could be a factor in the collision. Alcoholic beverage containers were found at the scene, but it is unknown if they are contributing factors at this time.
