CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — If you've ever wondered what it's like to chuck an axe into some wood, now you can give it a go thanks to a new axe-throwing spot in Crystal Lake. Spartan Axe Throwing is up and running following an Oct. 15 grand opening, according to the business' Facebook page. The fun family-friendly spot sits at 975 Nimco Drive, Unit D, and once inside, safety is the number one priority of the Spartan Axe Throwing team, according to the website.

The Spartan Axe Throwing experience includes an enclosed cage for each group, with lanes for a single thrower. The layout was designed for everyone's safety and for the "best and most efficient" way for guests to enjoy themselves, according to the website. The website also includes safety rules and tips for guests.

Big groups and parties are welcome. A one-hour throwing session costs $25 per person, and prices increase as throwing session time increases.
