Boat Crashes Into Dock, Lands On Pontoon: Authorities
No one was injured when a boat with two passengers on board collided with the dock on the Fox River near McHenry early Friday.

No injuries were reported after a boat flew over a dock and landed partially on top of a docked boat on the Fox River near McHenry Friday morning, police said.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office said the incident happened just after midnight on Friday in the 300 block of Mineral Springs Drive in unincorporated McHenry.

McHenry County Sheriff’s Deputy Tim Creighton said a boat with two passengers was traveling north on the Fox River.
The boat crashed over a dock and onto a docked pontoon boat, Creighton said.

The boat came to a rest with its bow sticking upwards and the stern lodged underneath the dock.
Damage was reported to the homeowner’s dock, their docked pontoon boat and a lift canopy. There were no reported injuries.
Creighton said that nighttime conditions are believed to have played a role in the crash.

It is unknown if alcohol or speed were additional factors, Creighton said.
The homeowners, Phil and Pam Petrucci, told the Northwest Herald they were “amazingly” not awoken by the crash but a neighbor notified them of it.
The Petrucci’s told the Northwest Herald they hope the boat that crashed into their pontoon can be removed before boat traffic picks up this weekend.
