Bomb, Shooting Threat Prompts Swatting Investigation: Police
The Woodstock Police Department evacuated the Old Courthouse Center in Woodstock Friday night.
WOODSTOCK, IL — Police in Woodstock are continuing to investigate a swatting incident that took place last week at the courthouse.
Authorities say the Northeast Regional Communications Center received a call from a male at about 7:30 p.m. on Friday who said he was inside the Old Courthouse Center, 101 N. Johnson St., and had explosives and a firearm. He said he planned to set off the explosives and shoot people inside the building.
He also said the violence would take place during a specific time frame, according to a news release.

The Woodstock Police Department responded and created an action plan and evacuated the building, according to the news release. They searched the building and did not find anyone or anything that could be considered a threat.
No one was injured in the incident, police said.

Police are treating this incident as a swatting incident, according to the news release. They do not believe there is any immediate danger to the community.
An investigation is underway into the swatting incident and police are searching for the person responsible for the swatting call, police said last week.
