Cambridge Lakes Closed, Activities Canceled Due To Sick Students

After-school activities such as AM and PM fun, preschool, and NKEC Board meeting canceled, but girls' basketball away game still on.

PINGREE GROVE, IL — Due to what school officials said is an unusually high number of student illnesses, Cambridge Lakes Charter School is closed Tuesday, March 12 so that a deep clean of the building can be conducted, according to the school's Facebook page. In addition, school officials announced the cancellation of preschool, School's Out AM and PM, the NKEC Board meeting and after-school activities, except for the girls basketball team's scheduled away game. That game will be played as scheduled, the school said.

The school is scheduled to reopen at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, and school officials apologize for the inconvenience, adding they feel strongly that this is in the best interest of campus health.
