Car Found Submerged In Pond In Cary: Authorities
The car was found under water in the area of Detroit Street and Crystal Woods Circle at about 7:40 p.m. Monday.
CARY, IL — The Cary Police Department is investigating how a car ended up submerged in a pond Monday evening.
The Cary Fire Protection District was called to the incident in the area of Detroit Street and Crystal Woods Circle at about 7:40 p.m. where they found a vehicle that had left the roadway, went down an embankment and into the water, according to a news release from the fire protection district.
The vehicle was fully submerged when they arrived. Emergency crews did not know if anyone was inside the vehicle and divers went into the pond to check the front and rear seats as well as the trunk, according to a news release.

No one was found inside the vehicle or in the pond, according fire officials. Authorities also checked the address that the car was registered under and did not find any driver or occupants.
No one from the vehicle was present at the scene as of 9 p.m., according to authorities. Search crews continued other use sonar technology and drones resources to search the pond and cleared the scene at about 11:30 p.m.

As of 8:15 a.m. Tuesday, the incident was still being investigated by the Cary Police Department, said Scott Naydenoff, deputy chief of support service for the Cary Police Department. No additional information regarding how the car ended up in the pond was immediately available, he said.
