Cary Fire Department and Junior Trojans Talk Teamwork

Fire Station Open House Offers Motivation to Middleweight

The Cary Fire Protection District's annual open house proved more than a typical visit for one Cary Jr. Trojans football team. The Trojans Middleweight Pac10 Navy team has been on a winning streak, finding much success on the field against area towns, such as 21-6 against Barrington and 20-0 against Kenosha. Last weekend's game against Mt. Prospect went the other direction (14-0) and the team's emotion got the best of them. The roster of 4th to 7th graders needed to regroup and find a sense of motivation.

The team moms saw an event post for Cary F.D.'s open house and thought it may be a good fit. Who better to learn from? Fire fighting is the definition of teamwork and they are heroes in our community. Cary F.D. was more than willing to give the team a special guided tour and closed-door speaking session. Two firemen spoke and truly blew the kids' minds when they learned they were former Trojans football players, coaches and even quoted some of the plays they use today!

The Cary Fire Department went above and beyond to rally the teammates and ready them for a big game against Prairie Ridge this weekend. From the chants and cheers billowing throughout the fire station, it sounded like they are more than ready.

Roster: Alexander Ellis; Ben Hammer; Brady Roehm; Bronx Borscha; Camden Covelli; Carter Brock; Eli Bollendorf; Ethan Bollendorf; Gio LoBue; Isiah Madl; Jacob Hammer; Jacob Hattendorf; Javon Johnson; Johnny Vetta; Jonathan Manley; Kayden Ayala; Logan Wall; Marshall Cox; Maverick Greiss; Maximus Perschke; Ollin Unger; Quinn Brock; Quinn Nommensen; Raul Mendez; Xander Myers; Zach Ryan.
