Cary Man Pleads Not Guilty In Crash That Killed Teen
Authorities accuse him of causing the crash that killed 16-year-old Danielle Thomas
WAUKEGAN, IL — A Cary man pleaded not guilty on Wednesday to charges for a crash that killed a McHenry teen in March, according to a release from the State's Attorney's Office. Caleb Rohrbach, 18, remains in the Lake County Jail.
He was charged with three counts of reckless homicide, three counts of aggravated driving under the influence of cannabis and two counts of aggravated reckless driving in connection with the March 15 crash.
The two-car crash happened on Route 12 near Case Road in Wauconda when a black Hyundai Elantra, driven by Caleb R. Rohrbach, 18, of Cary, was heading south on Route 12 and crossed the center line, colliding head on with a gray Ford Focus, which was driven by Danielle Thomas, 16, according to police.

Thomas died later in a hospital. Three others were injured, the release says.
If found guilty, Rohrbach faces up to 14 years in prison.

He's being held at the Lake County Jail on $1 million bail.
The preliminary trial date is Jan. 21, 2020, at the Lake County Circuit Court.
