Cary Police Issue Tickets During Thanksgiving Detail

The traffic safety campaign ran from Nov. 17 to 27.

CARY, IL — The Cary Police Department doled out a handful of citations as part of a special enforcement campaign over the Thanksgiving holiday.

Between Nov. 17 and 27, the Cary Police Department issued one cellphone violation citation and seven speeding citations, according to a news release from the Cary Police Department.

"We issue tickets to remind drivers and passengers that seat belt use is not a suggestion, it's the law," said Cary Police Chief Pat Finlon. "This year's campaign was successful in grabbing people's attention with highly visible enforcement methods. As always, our goal is a safe community with safe drivers."
