Child Ejected From Car Seat During Crash In McHenry County: Police
Five people were injured in the collision on Route 14 and Lembcke Road in unincorporated Harvard on Sunday afternoon.
HARVARD, IL — A child who was ejected from their car seat during a crash near Harvard Sunday afternoon was among five people injured in the two-vehicle collision, authorities said.
The Harvard Fire Protection District was called to the scene of the head-on crash at Route 14 and Lembcke Road in unincorporated Harvard at about 4:05 p.m. Sunday, according to a news release from the Harvard Fire Protection District.
When emergency crews arrived, they found the driver of a sedan was trapped inside their vehicle. The driver was extricated from the sedan and taken by ambulance to a hospital in serious condition.

Two adults in a sports utility vehicle sustained moderate injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital, and two children in the SUV were also injured. One of the children was taken by helicopter in serious condition to a hospital, and the other was taken by ambulance to a hospital with minor injuries.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
