Child Finds Gun Left On Playground At School: Police
The incident happened last week at the playground at Crystal Lake South Elementary School.
CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — Police issued a citation to a 45-year-old man accused of bringing a firearm to a playground in Crystal Lake last week.
George Kiska, of Crystal Lake, dropped the firearm while he was at the playground with his child at about 3:50 p.m. on Sept. 2 at Crystal Lake South Elementary School 601 Golf Road, according to a news release from the police department.
A different child located the firearm and told their parent about it, police said. Kiska was still at the playground and retrieved the un from an adult when notified.

Kiska, who has a concealed carry license, was cited unlawful possession of a firearm in a school zone. He has since been released from police custody.
Richard Neumann, deputy chief with the Crystal Lake Police Department, said police are not sure at this point why he brought the gun to a playground.

The incident remains under investigation by the Crystal Lake Police Department. Anyone with information regarding the incident can call police at 815-356-3620.
