Closures for Crystal Lake Beaches, Golf Range Remain in Effect Through Weekend
Crystal Lake Park District officials also said Friday that a temporary ban on the use of motorized water crafts will also remain in place.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL - A few Crystal Lake Park District facilities remain waterlogged after the region's record-setting rainfall, causing their closures to continue through the upcoming weekend.
Main Beach, 300 Lake Shore Drive; West Beach, 2330 Lake Ave.; and the Golf Learning Center Driving range, 1251 Route 176, will all remain closed through Monday, July 31, district representatives said Friday. A temporary ban on the use of motorized water crafts on Crystal Lake will also apply through Monday.
The closures will not impact the park at Main Beach and the miniature golf course at the Golf Learning Center. Both are accessible to residents.

District officials will reevaluate all closed facilities on Monday to determine whether they can set firm dates to reopen them to the public.
The McHenry County Health Department is charged with evaluating and providing clearance for swimming at local beaches based on water and bacteria levels. District officials noted on Friday that facilities could open sooner if their water levels recede to an "acceptable" level.
