Coroner IDs Woman Killed In House Fire

Diana Haddock, 73, was found dead inside the home after a fire broke out early Wednesday near McHenry.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — The McHenry County Coroner's Office has identified the woman killed in a house fire last week as Diana Haddock, 73, of McHenry.

Haddock was pronounced dead at the scene of the fire at about 4:20 a.m. Wednesday, according to the coroner's office. Haddock became trapped inside the home in the 2800 block of Magellan Drive near McHenry, and fire crews first at the scene were not able to rescue her due to the heavy fire conditions.

Once conditions improved, firefighters entered again and found her dead inside the home. Another resident was treated and released at the scene, and a firefighter sustained a minor injury, according to the news release.
