How has the new coronavirus impacted your business and its employees?
Unable to safely provide in-person design and production of fresh floral, linens, drapery and ceremony structure installations, we are left with the same bills to cover the warehouse storage of our thousands of items in our vast collections of curated decor carefully sourced over more than 15 years.
Our vendor partners have closed up or let go most of the contacts we worked hard to secure to seamlessly help our clients. The live events industry and fresh product industries are in shambles making the cost of wholesale items, including fresh floral, unpredictable. Flower growers around the world are tossing rotting flowers out, and not planting because there is no market for their product.
These factors trickle down to the small local businesses in our town. We run a tight ship, and as a family business it affects us, especially since this is the only source of income after laying the groundwork over many years of hard work.
How can local customers support you now and in the future?
Like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram. Book an appointment! Order a gift certificate for a future purchase. We are able to work with you virtually to design a corporate event, wedding, celebration and more including a prom, graduation, Mother’s Day or other gifts to be delivered after the pandemic. Our decor collections are known for their vast quantity, quality and depth. No matter what your theme, we are prepared to deliver just about anything you need.
Do you have any words of encouragement for your community?
Crystal Lake is kind of like the Mayberry we grew up watching on TV. We stick together and help each other out, no matter how difficult the task may be. We started our company because we saw a need to help families almost 15 years ago. We have morphed into an amazing company growing and adding products as there was a need. We and all residents can help each other with our own “expertise,” sharing, caring, listening and helping our neighbors become stronger afterward. Be kind, check on your neighbors and look towards the next chapter in our great story.
Are you offering any special services, promotions or hours during this time?
We are ready, eager and able to work with you to design the best possible event, product or service possible. If there is a need, no matter how small or large, please reach out for us to help. We began by hosting a formal dinner dance for a deserving group, and have vast experience offering proms, graduations and more. If these services are unavailable to students, our vendor partners are able to easily step in and offer it privately. We’ve been in the trenches as certified teachers, college adjuncts, Girl Scout leaders and more. 2020 does not need to be a sad memory. Our families have options, we just need to stay positive and work together to get through this storm to enjoy the rainbow.
Are there any other outstanding businesses in town you think deserve some community support?
Realtor Alice Picci is kind, keeps the neighborhood informed if a resident is in need of help, is always funny, positive and helpful. She is a city treasure and someone you should meet whether or not you have a real estate need.
