Crystal Lake City Clerk Charged With Grooming, Possessing Child Porn

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — The city clerk for Crystal Lake has been arrested on charges of grooming and possession of child pornography.
Nicholas S. Kachiroubas, 45, was taken into custody on Tuesday after the McHenry County Sheriff's Office criminal investigations division served a search warrant at a home in the 200 block of South Dole Avenue, according to a news release from the sheriff's office. Kachiroubas is the city clerk for Crystal Lake, officials told the Northwest Herald.
As of Wednesday afternoon, Kachiroubas was not listed as a staffer on the city of Crystal Lake's website. No additional information was immediately available from the city.

The sheriff's office launched an investigation into Kachiroubas after the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children receiving information regarding the online enticement of children for sexual acts, according to authorities.
Kachiroubas was taken to the McHenry County Jail and has been charged with possession of child pornography and grooming.
