Crystal Lake Cops Coordinate Drunken Driving Crackdown for Super Bowl Weekend
Crystal Lake police officers will be looking for drunken drivers this coming weekend.

Crystal Lake police will be out in force this Super Bowl weekend, cracking down on seat belt law violators and alcohol and drug-impaired drivers.
Law enforcement officials request designating a sober driver and not letting friends drive impaired. These are just two of several simple steps to help avoid a tragic crash or a DUI arrest.

- Call a taxi, use mass transit, or call a sober friend or family member to get you home safely;
- Report impaired drivers to law enforcement;
- Spend the night where the activity is being held and sleep it off;
- Always buckle up – it is your best defense against an impaired driver.
Federal grant money, administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation, pays for the Crystal Lake Police Department’s Super Bowl enforcement effort.
