CRYSTAL LAKE, IL - The Crystal Lake Police Department completed compliance checks during the month of April on all registered sex offenders residing within the city.

Officers conduct these "knock and talks" periodically throughout the year to confirm offenders are actually residing at their registered addresses and the information provided on their registration forms is current and accurate.

Under state law, registered sex offenders are required to report any change to registration information within three days. Non-compliance may result in a violation of the Sex Offender Registration Act, a Class 4 Felony. We discovered no violations during our April compliance checks.
