Crystal Lake Home Uninhabitable Following Blaze

The blaze broke out Monday evening at a home in the 1400 block of Blue Herron Drive in Crystal Lake.

CRYSATL LAKE, IL — A Crystal Lake home is uninhabitable after a blaze broke out Monday evening, fire officials said.

The Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department responded to the two-story home in the 1400 block of Blue Herron Drive at about 5:15 p.m., according to a news release from the Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department. There was one resident and one animal inside the home at the time of fire, and both were able to get out safely.

No one was injured in the house fire.

The single-family home sustained fire, heat, smoke and water damage and has been deemed uninhabitable, according to the news release. The blaze caused $45,000 in damages.

The blaze remains under investigation.
