The water main break has caused "extensive damage," library officials said.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — The Crystal Lake Public Library will be closed Tuesday after a water pipe burst at the library, causing extensive damage, library officials said Monday.
The pipe burst on Sunday night amid extreme cold temperatures. Library officials said they are working to clean up the mess and repair damages at the library, 126 W. Paddock St., but have not yet announced when the library will reopen, according to a post on the Crystal Lake Public Library Facebook page.
Several other Crystal Lake-area schools, business and daycares will also be closed Tuesday due to the cold weather, including Crystal Lake Elementary District 47, Community High School District 155, Cary District 26 and McHenry County College. More closings can be found on the Emergency Closing Center website.
