Crystal Lake Man, 44, Killed In McHenry County Motorcycle Collision
Three vehicles were involved in the head-on crash in the 5800 block of Route 47 in Greenwood Township.
CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — A 44-year-old Crystal Lake man has died following a crash near Hebron.
The collision happened at about 5:20 p.m. Wednesday when a 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle, which was headed south on Route 47, collided head-on with a 2016 Ford Explorer, which was northbound on 47, according to a news release from the McHenry County Sheriff's Office.
The motorcycle crossed the centerline before hitting the Ford Explorer and then also collided with a trailer pulled by a 2018 Chevrolet pickup truck.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured or killed in the collision, authorities said.
Authorities believe alcohol was a factor in the collision. In addition, the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
