Crystal Lake Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting A Child

A Crystal Lake man has been charged with predatory sexual assault of a child under the age of 13, court records show.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — A Crystal Lake man has been charged with predatory sexual assault of a child under the age of 13, court records show.

Samuel NMI Sangabriel-Flores, 40, of the 900 block of Abbington Drive in Crystal Lake, was charged with one count of predatory sexual assault of a child, a Class X felony, and one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a child, a Class 2 felony.

A criminal complaint alleges that Sangabriel-Flores made contact with a child’s genitals and kissed the victim on the mouth.

Court records show that the incident occurred sometime between December 2012 and December 2014.

A McHenry County judge signed off on a warrant for Sangabriel-Flores on February 14. He was taken into custody the following day by the Crystal Lake Police Department.

Crystal Lake Deputy Police Chief Thomas Kotlowski refused to release any information regarding the case due to the victim being a juvenile.

Bond was set at $50,000 and Sangabriel-Flores was released after posting 10 percent bail, which was later revoked on Thursday.

Sangabriel-Flores remains held in the McHenry County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 13 for a preliminary hearing.
