Crystal Lake Man Guilty Of Sexual Abuse Of A Child

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — A Crystal Lake man was found guilty Wednesday of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and several other offenses, resulting in more than a dozen charges, according to a news release from the McHenry County State's Attorney's Office. Patrick Kenneally, McHenry County State’s Attorney, announced Wednesday that 42-year-old Arturo Hernandez-Pedraza was found guilty of three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, three counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, four counts of criminal sexual assault, three counts of sexual relations within families, and one count of domestic battery, according to the news release.

Hernandez-Pedraza was charged on the offense of having sexual contact with the victim for over 13 years, according the the state's attorney's office, and faces a minimum sentence of 37 years in the Illinoi Department of Corrections (IDOC).

Hernandez-Pedraza is scheduled to be sentenced by Judge Michael Coppedge on Dec. 19, the news release said.

The case was investigated by Detective Eitel of the Crystal Lake Police Department, and was prosecuted by Sharyl Eisenstein and Susanne Groebner of the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office, according to the release.
