Crystal Lake Man Sentenced To Prison For Cocaine Possession

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — McHenry County State’s Attorney Patrick Kenneally announced in a news release Wednesday that Carmen Gutierrez, 45, was sentenced to six years in the Illinois Department of Corrections by McHenry County Judge Robert Wilbrandt after pleading guilty to felony unlawful possession with intent to deliver cocaine. The charge and prison sentence stem from October 2019, during which a search warrant was executed at Gutierrez's Crystal Lake home, according to the news release. On Oct. 23, officers executed the search warrant and found a large amount of cocaine, scales and packaging materials inside the home, according to the news release.

Members of the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Crystal Lake Police Department investigated this case, which was prosecuted by Brian Miller and Brette Dunbar of the
McHenry County State’s Attorney’s office.
