Crystal Lake Police: No Rifle Found Outside Library

​ Charges have been filed against a felon accused of unlawfully possessing a gun, police said. In a press release sent out this past week.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — Charges have been filed against a felon accused of unlawfully possessing a gun, police said. In a press release sent out this past week, police clarified some misinformation sent out in the media regarding the gun being found in the bushes near the Crystal Lake Public Library.

"It has been reported that the firearm was recovered by police in some bushes along the Crystal Lake Public Library," according to Crystal Lake police e. "This is inaccurate and the firearm was recovered by police from the residence."

Robert Walker, of Oakwood Hills, was arrested in the 1 to 100 block of McHenry Avenue at 9:30 a.m. on Friday. He's been charged with unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon without a FOID Card.
