Crystal Lake Residents Can Recycle Xmas Trees, Lights: Report
Crystal Lake residents reportedly have a window to recycle Christmas trees and lights.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — The City of Crystal Lake is allowing residents to recycle Christmas trees and lights, the Northwest Herald has reported.
“Residents should place real Christmas trees on the curbside by 7 a.m. through Jan. 6 to be collected for composting,” the paper said. “Questions should be directed to MDC Environmental Services at 815-568-7274.”
As far as lights, Crystal Lake has teamed up with Elgin Recycling in the collection effort, according to the Northwest Herald.

“The program, which lasts through Feb. 24, accepts all string lighting and extension cords, but does not accept garlands, wreaths or other nonrecyclables,” the Northwest Herald said.
